
Track and Field Set to Compete At Rock Chalk Classic

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Saluki track and field program is headed to Lawrence, Kan., to partake in the Rock Chalk Classic, the team's regular season finale. The two-day meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Rock Chalk Park on the campus of the University of Kansas.
Friday's events get underway at 1 p.m. CT with the men's javelin throw, followed the women's long jump to follow at 2 p.m. The women's javelin is set to start at approximately 2:30 p.m., with the men's pole vault, men's hammer throw, women's high jump, men's long jump and women's hammer to follow in a rolling schedule. Running events get underway at 3 p.m. with the women's 200-meter dash and conclude with the men's 5,000-meter run around 9:35 p.m.
Day two begins at 11 a.m. with the start of the women's discus throw with the men's triple jump to follow. Running events begin at 12:30 p.m. with the start of the 4x100-meter relay and end around 4 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relay races.
