
Track and Field To Compete at Tom Botts Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois University track and field program is headed to Columbia, Mo., to take part in the Tom Botts Invitational, hosted by the University of Missouri April 9-10 at the Audrey J. Walton Stadium.
Friday's field events get underway at 3:30 p.m. with the men and women's hammer throw, followed by the long jump and javelin at 4:30 p.m. Track events start at 7 p.m. with the 3000-meter steeplechase, while the 1500-meter, 5000-meter and 10000-meter races are set to follow.
Saturday's field events get underway with the start of the pole vault at 11:30 a.m., with the high jump, shot put, discus and triple jump to follow. Track events begin at 12 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay and conclude with the 4x400-meter relay.
The field of teams set to compete with Southern Illinois at the meet include Creighton, DePaul, Kansas, Mizzou, Northern Iowa and St. Louis.
