The Southern Illinois women's golf team is set to host the Diane Daugherty Invite on March 28-29, 2022. The 16-team field will tee off at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles, Missouri, a par 71 course that spans 5,987 yards. The course was originally designed in the early 1900s and has evolved throughout the years featuring zoysia fairways that are spread out before bent grass greens.
The event is named after Saluki Hall of Famer Diane Daugherty, a three-time conference Coach of the Year who won five conference championships (1988, 1990, 1998, 2000, 2007). Her teams also made five second-place finishes at the conference tournament. She coached three individual titleists, 21 Academic All-Americans and won 10 tournament titles. Daugherty was also named to the MVC's All-Centennial Team coaches wing.
The Salukis lineup will consist of graduates Moyea Russell & Rosemarie Bundy, sophomore Janie Samattiyadeekul, junior Secilia Ho, and freshman Kylee Vaughan. Freshman Morgan Gindler, sophomore Adriana Vinterova, senior Ryleigh Vaughn, and sophomore Waew Anuvran will compete as individuals.
SIU will tee for for the first round on Monday at 8:30am CT. The weather forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with a high of 51. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat. The final round tees off with a shotgun start at 9:00am CT on Tuesday.
