
Salukis Win Fifth-Straight Over Redbirds

The Dawgs got out to a quick start and took the first set but found themselves behind after the third set. The Redbirds went on a pair of long runs in both the second and third set in order to give themselves a 2-1 advantage heading into frame number four.Â
Four Salukis totaled double-digit kills led by Tatum Tornatta with 16 who also hit for a match-high .433 hitting percentage. Tornatta's 16 kills mark her sixth-straight match with 10 or more kills.
Leading the Salukis in points was Nataly Garcia who finished with 15 kills, eight digs, and four aces. Garcia has recorded four aces in three matches now this season as she totals 48 on the season, second-most in the Valley.
Imani Hartfield (11) and Annabelle Sulish (13) also had double-digit kills while also doing work on the defensive end as well. Hartfield finished with a team-high six block assists while Sulish also had a block to go along with seven digs.Â
Cecilia Bulmahn, reigning MVC Defensive Player of the Week, finished with 28 digs following her career-high 36 in the Salukis most recent win over Murray State.Â
Saluki setters Anna Jaworski and Ema Stermenska both evenly distributed with 24 assists apiece as Jaworski neared a double-double with nine digs.
The Salukis are back as they look for their sixth-straight win Saturday night against the Bradley Braves for senior night. First serve is set for 5pm following the Senior Ceremony.Â
