The Southern Illinois women's golf team travels to Kyle, Texas to open the 2023 spring season at the Texas State Invitational. The Salukis lineup will consist of sophomore Kylee Vaughan, junior Janie Samattiyadeekul, senior Ayanna Habeel, senior Secilia Ho, and freshman Ella Overstreet. Junior Adriana Vinterova and sophomore Morgan Gindler will be competing as individuals.
The eight-team field will tee off at the Plum Creek Golf Club, a par 71 that plays 5,981 yards. The course is known for its wildflowers, rolling hills, lake views, and layout where no two fairways touch.
The first round of 36-holes tees off with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. CT on Monday. The weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of 77F and winds from the south at 15 to 25 mph. The final round of 18-holes will be played on Tuesday with a tee time scheduled for 8:00 a.m. CT. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.
