Salukis Drop Midweek Matchup At SEMO

Carbondale, Ill. -Â The Southern Illinois Salukis dropped their midweek matchup at Southeast Missouri by a final score of 9-0. The Salukis have lost three-games in a row for the first time this season as they move to 29-8.
SEMO got out to a quick start after a pair of walks on a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. The Redhawks offense didn't slow down there as they would go on to score in every inning played. Southern almost held SEMO scoreless in the second but an error led to a pair of runs to come across.Â
Bailey Caylor had the first hit of the game for the Salukis in the third inning on a single to left. Caylor has now recorded a hit in each of SIU's last four games and seven of the last eight. Freshman Anna Carder recorded the Salukis only other hit as they totaled a season-low two on the day.Â
Up next for the Salukis is a weekend trip to Northern Iowa for a three-game series beginning on Friday at 5 PM. SIU and UNI will play on Saturday at 2 PM and conclude the series on Sunday at noon.
