Five Salukis Finish Top 30 At The Velvet

PADUCAH, Ky. – SIU wrapped up The Velvet at the Country Club of Paducah on Tuesday afternoon. The Salukis had two teams compete in the Tournament and the first team finished 7th and the second team finished 8th.
The final day score of 313 for SIU was the third best team score in the final round, and SIU's second team had a score of 315 which was tied for the 4th best round on the final day of the Tournament.
Five Salukis placed in the top 30 of the tournament, with Janie Samattiyadeekul leading all SIU golfers with a score of 232. The next highest individual came on the second SIU team of the tournament from Morgan Gindler with a score of 235. Kayla Sayyalinh, Secillia Ho, Kylee Vaughan all finished with a score 241.
The next tournament for SIU will be the Saluki Invitational on October 2nd and 3rd in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Dalhousie Golf Club will host the invitational.
