SIU Finishes Tied For Ninth At GMAC Invitational

ONEONTA, AL.– Southern Illinois finished its third fall tournament earlier this afternoon in Alabama at The G-MAC Invitational. Salukis finished tied for 9th with UTRGV with a score of 872 (+8).
SIU had a really strong second day of the Tournament on Monday, shooting 285 as a team, which was the tied for the fourth best team score of the day.
Leon Heitz led the way for Southern Illinois, finishing tied for 11th on the individual leaderboard and didn't have a single round over par over the three days. After shooting an even par following Sunday's opening round, Heitz shot a 69 (-3) in round two and then 71 (-1) in the final round today.
Edouard Cereto cracked into the top 20 of the individual leaderboard, with an important round of 68 (-4) on Monday afternoon in the second round. His final tournament score of 216 (Even) was tied for 20th with five other competitors.
Salukis have two more competitions in the fall before their fall calendar is complete, with the next tournament being in Paradise Island from October 20th-22nd.
