CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois' women's swim and dive team spent Friday and Saturday in Champaign, taking on in-state rivals Illinois and Illinois State. While the Salukis fell to the Illini, 212-134, SIU picked up a 215-129 win over the Redbirds.
"We are pleased with how the women have performed through three out of four weeks on the road, for two-day meets each time," says head coach Geoff Hanson. "It's a lot of travel and racing in hostile environments. Many individual event and relay wins this weekend again showed this group can compete at a very high level with a Big Ten opponent. We're also happy to come away with another MVC win versus Illinois State, keeping our women undefeated in the conference."
