Preview | Women's Golf opens spring season in Palm City

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois Women's Golf will open its 2025 spring season at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate in Palm City, Fla., hosted by UNC-Greensboro. The tournament begins Sunday, Feb. 9, with each golfer playing 18 holes daily through Tuesday.
The Salukis will look to pick up where they left off. They closed out the Fall 2024 campaign with a round of 294 at the Diamante Intercollegiate, the program's lowest since October 2019.
Sophomore Kayla Sayyalinh leads the Salukis with an 18-hole average of 75.83 and holds a team-high individual finish of ninth at The Velvet Classic.
First-year head coach Rory Weinfurther will have Ella Overstreet, Pihla Pennanen, Allie Santos and Calli Smith join Sayyalinh on this trip to the Sunshine State.
The forecasts for Sunday and Monday call for light winds and a high of 82 degrees. Tuesday will see a high of 81 degrees with slightly stronger winds up to 15 miles per hour.
