Salukis Back in Action at Badger Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois men's golf returns to action Sunday through Tuesday at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin.
The three-day tournament will be played Sept. 27-29 at University Ridge Golf Course and is hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The Badger Invitational is Wisconsin's only home tournament of the fall season.
Southern Illinois enters the event after competing at the Highlands Invitational in Westchester, Illinois. The Salukis finished tied for 11th as a team, while senior Oliver Ulrich led Southern Illinois with a tied-for-15th finish.
Head coach Justin Fetcho said following the Highlands Invitational that the team will look to learn from the experience and continue improving as the fall season moves forward. "This was another solid week for Oliver Ulrich," Fetcho said. "He finished Top 15 and has really shown his senior leadership to this team in the first two events. He's played very consistent golf to start the year."
Southern Illinois' lineup for the Badger Invitational will include Oliver Ulrich, Jamen Sanders, Emil Elkjaer Petersen, River Stilley, Michael Mikus and Francis Lockwood.
The Badger Invitational will mark the third tournament of the fall season for Southern Illinois. SIU's official schedule lists the event for Sept. 27 in Madison, Wisconsin, while Wisconsin's schedule confirms competition will run through Sept. 29 at University Ridge.
