At Keiser, Hampel was the leader of the sprint group helping the women claim their third straight NAIA National Championship and their men to a runner-up finish at the NAIA National Championship. The women wrapped up the three-peat with 44 NAIA All-Americans, five relay All-American teams, four relay national championship teams, and three individual national championships. While the men, grabbed 45 NAIA All-Americans, five relay All-American teams, two relay national championship teams, and four individual national championships. Hampel also was the primary coach for Noel De Geus, who was named NAIA Swimmer of the Year, SUN Swimmer of the Year, and had the NAIA Swim of the Year (51.43 100Yard Breaststroke).  Under Hampel, De Geus also was a two-time Silver Medalist at the 2024 LEN European Championships in the 4x100Meter Mixed Medley Relay and the 50Meter Breaststroke.

Before Keiser, he helped lead the University of West Florida swimming & diving program to their fourth consecutive NSISC Conference Championship and sixth overall in the program's tenth year. During his time in Pensacola, Hampel also helped lead the Argos to the largest margin of victory in NSISC history (407 points), the largest NCAA roster for the Argos in school history (16), 28 NCAA All-Americans, 45 Argos Top 10 All-Time Performances, and five school records.Â

Hampel joined the Argonaut staff with six years of club-level experience, most recently, two years as Head Age Group at Missouri State Aquatics. He helped guide the program at MSA to its first combined (Men's and Women's) scoring finish in program history at Speedo Sectionals.
He was a two-time High School All-American and a member of the University of Louisville's eighth-ranked 2017 Men's NCAA Recruiting Class. During his collegiate career, he was a three-time individual Mid-American Conference Champion, a two-time First-Team All-MAC selection, and helped Missouri State University win a MAC Team Championship in 2020. Hampel was also a 2020 United States Olympic Trials Qualifier, a fifth-ranked University of Louisville team member, and a two-time captain at Missouri State University. He was also a four-time CSCAA Academic All-American, a three-time MAC distinguished scholar, and a two-time ACC Honor Roll member.
Hampel earned a bachelor's in General Studies with an emphasis in Biomedical Science, Kinesiology, and Psychology from Missouri State University in 2022. He also earned a master's in professional studies with an emphasis and graduate certificate in Sports Management.Â
