Women's Tennis Defeated by Ball State

MUNCIE, IN. - The Salukis drop to 1-5 on the season, as they were defeated by Ball State, 5-2 Friday evening at the Muncie YMCA center.
SIU had a rough start to the day as the Cardinals won two of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Ball State had similar results in singles play as they were victorious in four of the six singles matches on the evening.
Freshmen Amanda Taillefer and junior Zoya Honarmand were the only two Salukis to post wins in singles play as Taillefer defeated Haly Calderwood (7-6, (2), 6-2) and Honarmand was able to get past Jennifer Pollack with a 7-6, (4), 6-2 win.
The Salukis finish up their weekend with a match against the Penguins of Youngstown State 11:00 AM Saturday.
