Women's Tennis Falls to Northern Iowa

CEDAR FALL, IA. - The Salukis dropped a tough match to Northern Iowa as the Panthers defeated SIU 5-2. Southern falls to 2-2 in MVC play and 4-10 overall for the season.
The Salukis started off the day by dropping the doubles point as Maria Blanco and Tana Trapani feel at the No. 1 doubles spot, and Zuzana Palovic and Zoya Honarmand were defeated at the No. 2 spot by UNI's Carolina Hannes and Agnese Pukse (8-4).
Northern Iowa continued to give the Dawgs trouble as the Panthers defeated SIU in all but two singles matches. Tana Trapani was able to pick up a win at the No. 3 singles spot, while Zuzana Palovic notched a victory at the No. 5 spot.
The Salukis are back in action tomorrow when they head to Omaha, Neb. to take on the Creighton Bluejays.
