Women's Tennis tops Eastern Illinois, 6-1

CARBONDALE, Ill.

SIUSalukis.com - The Southern Illinois University women's tennis team carried the momentum from last Sunday's win against Northern Illinois by rolling to a 6-1 victory over Eastern Illinois on Friday.
The Salukis (2-3) swept the No. 1 through No. 5 singles matches and also picked up the doubles point. The only point SIU did not win was at No. 6 singles, which it forfeit due to an injury to junior Vishakha Sheoran.
"Our singles matches today were very good," said Saluki head coach Audra Nothwehr. "Everyone played solid and I am proud of their ability to keep composed in pressure situations and I am proud of the team effort."
The Salukis will host UT-Martin on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sports Blast in Carbondale, Il
