SIU to face Kentucky, Missouri, and Northwestern in quad meet

LEXINGTON, KY. – The Southern Illinois University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will head across the Kentucky boarder this weekend for a quad meet on the University of Kentucky's campus. The four teams competing in the meet are Kentucky, SIU, the University of Missouri, and Northwestern University. This will be the second time this season the women's team will face a power five conference (Oct. 22 at Illinois) and the first time for the men's team.
QUICK FACTS FOR MEN'S TEAM
-The men's team is coming off a dominant midweek performance against McKendree University, where they won 125-54.
-The team is a perfect 2-0 on the season, winning both of their meets by a margin of at least 70 points.
-Last year at the quad meet the men's team defeated Northwestern by 11 points.
-All time records facing each team: UK 1-8, Mizzou 15-19, and Northwestern 5-1.
QUICK FACTS FOR WOMEN'S TEAM
-The women's team is coming off a successful weekend in Champaign. The Dawgs defeated conference foe Illinois State, 171-110, and put up over 100 points on Illinois in a loss.
-The Salukis have already won swimmer of the week and diver of the week in the Missouri Valley Conference two times apiece (2x Rachel Williams, Kelsie Walker, Bryn Handley).
-This will be the fourth meet of the season for the team.
-All time records facing each team: UK 0-7, Mizzou 4-16, and Northwestern 0-5.

-The men and women's teams from Mizzou and UK are both ranked in last week's College Swimming Coaches poll (CSCAA).

-The Tigers are coming off a split with the University of Alabama. The women's team beat the Tide, 167-132, while the men fell, 183-114.
-Northwestern is coming off a 185-110 loss to Duke last week. That is only their second loss of the season, as they currently sit with a record of 4-2.
