01/23/2020 | 3:30:00 | Swimming & Diving
CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Southern Illinois women's swimming and diving team is set to host conference opponent Indiana State on Saturday, Jan. 25 inside Shea Natatorium. Events will begin at 1 p.m. and live stats can found on the Meet Mobile app.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH HANSON
Expectations versus Indiana State…
"I expect we'll be focused. We're gonna need one of our best dual-meet performances of the year to win the meet. As soon as we finished up last Saturday against Little Rock, we started to think about this week and how we can prepare mentally and physically. We aren't changing how we train, but we hope to be mentally engaged and ready to go. Indiana State is one of the top teams in the conference. They're deep and have been put together well in their short time as a program. We're gonna need to be on our game."
On what it would mean to beat the Sycamores after losing last year…
"I think it would give us a lot of confidence. Win or lose, we are a confident team. I think we can be a good dual-meet team, along with a good championship team. We've put an emphasis on our dual meets all year and we're not going to change how we train for them. We hope to execute better each time. Our men will be rooting in full force for our women's team and we hope that gives us an edge as well.
