
Salukis Back on the Road for Split Meet at Louisville/Indiana

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois University track and field teams continue their indoor season this weekend with a split meet at Louisville and Indiana. Sprinters and jumpers will compete in the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational hosted by the University of Louisville on Jan. 29. Throwers and distance runners will take part in the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Indiana on Jan. 28-29.
Meet Information
The Indiana Relays will take place at the Gladstien Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Indiana. Friday's track and field events will both begin at 4 p.m. CT. Saturday gets kicked off with track events beginning at 8:00 a.m. CT.

The PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational will be held inside the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The events will kick off on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. CT.

Last Time Out
The Salukis are coming off a road meet at Indiana State where they competed in the John Gartland Invitational. The Saluki women took home first in the team standings with 169.5 total points. The men's side placed fourth in their first action of the season.
Kayla Schiera got the first win of the day by cruising to a first place finish in the women's 1 mile (4:59.05). The men got their first victory of the meet with Omar Rodgers first place time in the 60m hurdles, a personal best time of 8.14. Iaunia Pointer scored two wins on Saturday with first place finishes in the 60m and 200m. Her times of 7.54 and 24.32 set both meet and facility records. Her 200m time was also good for 2nd all-time in SIU's record books.
