Recap | Salukis Finish with Draw Against Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Southern Illinois University women's soccer team (4-2-4)Â ended with a 1-1 draw against Indiana State on Thursday.Â
In the first half of play, the Salukis had four shots and one corner kick. In the 40th minute, Riley Maulick had the team's first scoring chance but was stopped short by Indiana State's goalkeeper.Â
The second half also got off to a quiet start. The first goal of the game wasn't until the 75th minute when Indiana State found the back-of-the-net to take the late 1-0 lead.Â
The Salukis' offense responded in the 87th minute. Dory Latenser scored the equalizer and her first goal as a Saluki. Fellow freshman Aylie Haycock had the assist on the goal.
Neither team could connect again before time expired.
Goalkeeper Fabiana Solano started and played in her 10th straight game. Solano recorded eight saves on one goal allowed versus Indiana State.Â
"Happy we fought ourselves back into the game. It's such a battle on that field it's about taking your chances. Tonight will give us confidence and belief for the next conference battle," head coach Graeme Orr said.Â
The Salukis will host Murray State on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. for their Senior Day.Â
