Carbondale, Ill. – Southern Illinois swim and dive is back in action this weekend as the women's squad heads to Champaign, Illinois, for a tri-meet against Illinois and Illinois State.

Women's swim and dive was last in action on October 11 at a tri-meet against Northwestern and Miami (OH). The Salukis dropped both meets, falling to Northwestern 218-76 and 174-120 against Miami (OH).
Olivia Herron had a strong day in the water, winning three events (100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard IM). Besides Herron, Liseska Gallegos Gutierrez was the other Saluki to win an event, winning the 100-yard backstroke.
The Matchup
Illinois' last meet came on October 17 and 18 against Iowa State, in which the 2-0 Fighting Illini won 121-65 and 123-82. As for Illinois State, they last took on UIC on October 17, where the Redbirds fell 221-78. Illinois State currently sits with a 1-3 record, with their lone win coming on October 3 against Quincy.
